Story:
Johnday (Naseer) is a bank employee and he suffers a lot of pain as his daughter gets killed in a heist that happens at his workplace. Later, John recovers a set of documents which contain a startling truth. These documents are very important for Gautham (Randeep) who works with the mafia. Though he is a ruthless cop, Gautham has a weakness for the beautiful Tabassum (Elena Kazan). How Johnday and Gautham end up at loggerheads forms the rest of the tale.
Analysis:
It takes a lot of skill and grip to come up with edge of the seat thrillers as many factors come into the picture. That way, the director needs to have a good control over all the departments of filmmaking. And if it has big guns like Naseeruddin Shah then the challenge is more. Still, the director has come up with an impressive show of his conviction. The film has very good script, nice screenplay, hard hitting dialogues, gripping background score and professional cinematography. Editing was equally crisp. Costumes suited the backdrop and the art department was quite realistic. In performances, Naseeruddin Shah excelled and delivered wherever required. Randeep Hooda was effective and showed his mettle. Sharat Saxena was superb. Shernaz Patel was nice. One showstealer was Elena Kazan. Her natural sex appeal, her striking beauty and her ease with expressions and performances was commendable. Others did their bit as required and added value. The first half was somewhat sturdy but the second half was engrossing. Overall, this is a film which is recommended for its content and serious sensibilities. - indiabells
